Summary: Collection consists of official and personal papers of Governor Dempsey. Includes correspondence with and reports from various state agencies concerning a broad range of issues such as natural resource conservation, public lands, and the oil industry. Also within the collection are materials concerning the Interstate Oil Compact Commission, Colorado River Commission, Rio Grande Compact Commission, and World War II issues in New Mexico, including programs sponsored by the federal government, the relocation of Japanese Americans, and the activities of the New Mexico National Guard's 200th Coast Artillery Regiment, which was involved in the Bataan Death March.
